Resumen
The study analyzes the frequency of workplace violence against physicians in primary care health services in Arequipa, Peru. The methodology is descriptive and quantitative; the questionnaire of the International Labor Organization was used. The results show that 80% of the doctors interviewed in health posts and health centers were victims of workplace violence. The main perpetrator was the relative or caregiver of the patient, with physical or psychological consequences. The study concludes that violence against physicians is related to various factors of work in primary health care.
