Resumen

Taking into account that the educational value of the games has increased in recent years, the objective of this work is to analyze the usability and quality of the Matelogic videogame in the teaching of mathematics for students in the fourth grade of Regular Basic Education. After the pilot study based on the ISO / IEC 9126 Standards, a questionnaire of 31 items for usability and another of 10 items for quality were developed. It was applied to a sample of 35 teachers of Regular Basic Education. The results obtained in the metrics and the reliability analyzes (Cronbach's alpha) indicate in all cases (sub categories) values greater than 0.80. Valid and reliable indicators that were used to measure usability are understanding, learning, operability, attraction and compliance of use; and for the quality model: efficiency, productivity, safety and satisfaction ease of use. There was a positive and significant relationship between sub categories of usability and quality. This study provides evidence on the importance of usability and quality aspects in the Matelogic video game. Finally we establish a discussion of the characteristics of usability and quality.
