Resumen

Introduction: The growing importance of resilience and satisfaction with life among university students in educational research results from the need to take measures aimed at improving those capacities. Objective: Determine the level of resilience and satisfaction with life among students from the Peruvian state university of San Agustín, Arequipa, in the face of unfavorable social situations. Methods: The sample was 40 university students aged 18-36 years. The research tools used were Wagnild and Young's resilience scale and Diener, Emmons, Larsen and Griffin's satisfaction with life scale. Results: Resilience values were "medium high" in 60% of the sample, "high" in 30% and "medium" in 10%. A primary relationship was found between the "medium high" resilience level and the "satisfied" level on the satisfaction with life scale. Conclusions: Results show a highly significant relationship (p < 0.05) between the level of resilience and the level of satisfaction with life.
