Abstract

This article presents a proposal to improve hospitalized patients caring, using emerging technologies such Raspberry Pi board and its megapixel camera module. For the implementation of the proposal we used Python programming language, with the OpenCV library that was programmed inside the board. In addition, it was implemented a web server with Django to monitor the patient remotely. The tests performed are shown, so that by making signs with the patient's hand in front of the megapixel camera, the system will recognize the movements and a call will be issued to the care staff (doctors, nurses and / or auxiliaries) depending on the Need of the patient.
